New Member Spotlight: Kelly Miller, Working Duds
- Why did you join the SFPFS?
Working Duds supports good food, good wine and most importantly looking good. Based in South San Francisco, we are thrilled to participate in the SFPFS. Our mission to provide high quality, durable and affordable kitchen uniforms for everyone in the food profession (even amateurs as well!)
- How is food connected to your career?
Working Duds is an online retailer of Regent Apparel clothing. Regent Apparel has a 90+ year history in the apparel business for chefs and other restaurant employees.
- Are you associated with any philanthropic cause related to the food industry?
Working Duds is just a baby and we are not yet associated directly with any philanthropy cause. However, our sister company Otis Street Designs is a proud supporter of La Cocina in San Francisco. La Cocina’s mission is to cultivate low income food entrepreneurs in the SF Bay Area by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, industry-specific technical assistance and access to market opportunities.
- What chefs or blogs do you follow?
I do a lot of home cooking, so most of the blogs I follow are geared towards that. Some favorites are Smitten Kitchen, Sprouted Kitchen, and 101 Cookbooks.
- What is your favorite restaurant in the Bay Area?
My favorite restaurants are usually either pizza or Asian. Some of my favorite spots are Sushi Sam’s in San Mateo, and Pizzeria Delfina, Little Star Pizza, and the newly opened Mister Jiu’s in San Francisco. There are so many great spots around the Bay Area to try!
